Specialty Gases

Specialty gases are unique mixes or concentrations compared to typical compressed gases. If your business has a need for a specific makeup of gases, we’re here to help you with your industrial and medical projects. The following are types of specialty gases we provide to our customers:

  • Food grade
  • High Purity
  • Ultra-high purity (99.9%)
  • Gas mixes

Food Grade Gases

Food grade gases are used in a variety of settings including manufacturing, transportation, storage, and more.

For example, there are specific gases used for modified atmosphere packaging that protects food as it’s transported from warehouse/food plants to supermarkets and restaurants. Food grade gases can be also used to transport refrigerated food or for storing foods at freezing temperatures. On the beverage side, nitrogen and carbon dioxide are the perfect gas for dispensing soda or beer.

High Purity and Ultra-High Purity (99.9%) Gases

The high and ultra-high purity gases are used when regular concentrations and gas mixtures won’t do the job. Often times high purity gases are used in laboratories, underwater expeditions, aerospace, fabrication, industrial plants, and other sectors.

Gas Mixes

Specialized combinations of gases are called gas mixes. For example, shielding gases used in welding can be a mixture of gases like argon, helium, or carbon dioxide. The specific mixes and types of gases will vary based on the project.

Making the Gas Switch

Is your current gas supplier only making deliveries every few weeks or leaving you high and dry because they don’t have other customers in your area? Often many of our new customers find us because their old gas provider didn’t fill their vital gas delivery or decided to wait a week until they had enough business in one area to schedule a delivery. Air Source knows that a delayed gas delivery costs you more than lost business, it costs you staff time and your trust with your supplier.

When you choose Air Source Industries, we’ll determine and deliver your compressed gases on a schedule that’s convenient for you and at an appropriate frequency for your usage. If your gas cylinders unexpectedly run low and you need a refill before the next scheduled delivery, we can provide next business-day delivery. Often times we can accommodate same-day deliveries if you place your order before 7:30 AM.
